Y'ffer, in response, badly copies her, and produces the Bosmer. So, here's one summary of the origins of the different peoples of Tamriel:Īzurah takes some formless spirits and shapes them into the Khajiit. It says she made them from the same formless ehlnofey that elves, men, plants and animals were all made from: the Ouze. This breed is present in Morrowind and looks like this:Īs for Skyrim and Oblivion, the breed is most commonly considered the Cathay, and the Skyrim Wikia confirms this but I don’t know what sources they use for this. The Khajiit creation myth does not state Azura made them from elves. The Suthay-raht are a common breed similar to men, with a range of colors of fur, and with and without spots and stripes. This breed is in TES II: Daggerfall and look like this: The Ohmes-raht is described as having light fur, a tail, but otherwise being similar to men. Ohmes are present in TES I: The Arena and look like this: The Ohmes are apparently the most common breed seen outside of Elsweyr, however it says they are shorter than Bosmer, and they “tattoo their faces to resemble a feline-aspect” so they don’t have other cat like features. It turns out multiple different breeds are seen in different games. Now I’m trying to figure out which breed is the playable race in the TES games.ĮDIT: did a little more research and found out some more about this so I’ve updated this section. The picture below is a breed called Senche-Tiger in ESO. Senches are used as mounts by the Khajiit. The housecat below is a pet from ESO, and while it probably isn’t an Alfiq, they may look very similar to this.

The Alfiq is similar to a housecat, however it has the same thinking capacity as any Khajiit, meaning it can understand speech, but cannot respond. Little is known about some of these breeds. For example, the Senche-raht is a larger form of the Senche. The -raht suffix is used for breeds that are larger and stronger. The Mane is a respected and powerful cat to the Khajiit. Some believe there is only one Mane, born over and over again as different Khajiits. The Mane is special because it is born under a rare phase of the moons, and it is said there can only be one Mane at a time. The two moons of Nirn: Masser on the left, Secunda on the right.

There are 17 known forms, although there may be more: Ohmes, Ohmes-raht, Suthay, Suthay-raht, Cathay, Cathay-raht, Tojay, Tojay-raht, Alfiq, Alfiq-raht, Dagi, Dagi-raht, Pahmar, Pahmar-raht, Senche, Senche-raht, Mane.

This is called the Lunar Lattice, or ja-Kha’jay in the Khajiiti language. Depending on the phases of the moons when they are born, the Khajiit take different forms. The Khajiit are closely connected to the moons, Secunda and Masser, of Nirn.
